D’Arcy Marketing & PR were approached to launch Galway Bay Irish Whiskey, a single malt, following the successful launch of the Galway Whiskey Trail in 2015.

Campaign Summary

Our immediate response to the brief was to break into song “and watch the sun go down on Galway”. This new whiskey product could only be launched on Galway Bay, with a live rousing rendition of the world famous ballad, delivered by renowned singer Sean Keane and legendary accordian “box” player  Máirtín O’Connor.

On a beautiful sunny Friday evening Galway Bay Irish Whiskey set sail from Galway Docks for a sunset launch accompanied by invited guests, national and regional media. Accompanied by a spectacular guard of honour  of traditional Galway Hooker Boats which created a breathtaking sight sailing towards Black Head where Galway Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean.

The launch was MC’d by Galway’s Pádraig Breathnach who treated guests to their first taste of Galway Bay Irish Whiskey as “the sun went down on Galway Bay”.

Excellent press coverage nationally and locally followed the magical launch event.
